This might seem strange, but is it necessary to take legal permission for doing a photo shoot at Central Park?

Ok, so I am writing this story where a magazine editor decides to carry out the cover photo shoot at Central Park. Since I don't live in New York City, I'd like to know, does the person need to ask the authority's permission before doing the photo shoot?
