What are good quality brands for lighting equipment?

I'm not real familiar with the different types of lighting equipment. This lighting equipment will be used for our teen service night at church, to cut the main lights off, and use the stage/DJ lighting equipment to make the atmosphere more comfortable for the teens during praise and worship.
