Do Red Light Camera Tickets go on your Driving Record or have an effect on your Insurance?
Someone driving my car passed a red light at an intersection with a camera. Will it hurt my driving record or make my insurance go up?
Public Comments
- not if you can prove that it was not you driving. if you are a blonde, for instance and the person in the photo is clearly a brunette, or a different sex, then you are required to forward the ticket to the driver. the ticket will go on their record, not yours and it will not affect your insurance.
- Red light camera tickets do not assess points to your license. The ticket is only issued to the registered owner of the vehicle. Points can not be issued unless a police officer witnesses you committing a moving violation.
